I'm not a golfer. Will I still enjoy the trip?
Absolutely! Golf is just one highlight of these extraordinary journeys. You'll stay in stunning 5-star luxury resorts, encounter Africa's Big 5 on thrilling safari drives, explore vibrant cities, and experience unforgettable cultural moments. While golfers are on the course, Casey arranges luxurious spa days, wine tastings, cultural tours, and exclusive experiences—all included in your tour price. This is an adventure designed for everyone to treasure.
How many people are in each tour group?
We limit groups to a maximum of 12 guests to ensure a personalized, intimate experience. Tours require a minimum of 6 participants to operate. Private groups seeking customized experiences for larger parties are welcome—contact us to discuss your requirements.
Is South Africa safe to travel?
Yes. Like any international destination, South Africa requires smart travel practices. Keep valuables secure, avoid displaying expensive items, and travel in groups rather than alone. South Africa prioritizes tourist safety, with petty theft being the primary concern in urban areas. Throughout your journey, Gavin and Casey will be with you as expert local guides ensuring your safety and wellbeing. You'll discover that South Africans are among the warmest, most welcoming people you'll ever meet.
I'm a solo traveler. Can I still join?
Absolutely! While our pricing is based on double occupancy, we welcome solo travellers and can provide a personalised quote. Contact us directly, and we'll create a package tailored to your needs.
What is the golf skill level required for these tours?
No minimum skill level is required—golf should be enjoyable, not stressful. That said, you'll likely be touring with passionate, experienced golfers, so some familiarity with the game is recommended. These are premium championship courses that reward solid play. As long as you're there to have fun, maintain reasonable pace of play, and respect both the game and your fellow players, you'll have an incredible time. The spectacular settings and unforgettable experiences matter far more than your scorecard.
What's not included in the tour price?
We've designed our tours to be as all-inclusive as possible while maintaining flexibility for personal preferences. International flights to and from South Africa are not included (though Casey, our travel agent, can assist with bookings). Most lunches and dinners are at your own expense, allowing you to explore local restaurants and dining experiences. Personal spending money and optional excursions beyond the standard itinerary are also excluded. We'll provide a comprehensive list of optional tours and activities and can arrange bookings for you.
How much walking is involved in the tours?
Most golf rounds include cart hire. The only exception is one Sun City course, which is traditionally walking with a caddie to carry your bag (though carts are available with a doctor's certificate for medical reasons). Beyond golf, expect moderate walking while exploring charming towns, resort grounds, vineyards, and attractions. There are no strenuous hikes or challenging terrain, but a comfortable walking fitness level is recommended. Think of it like exploring any beautiful new destination—you'll want to wander the stunning locations on foot. If you have mobility concerns, please contact us to discuss accommodations.
What is the best time of year to visit?
South Africa is exceptional year-round, but we schedule most tours during spring (August–November) and autumn (March–May) for optimal experiences. Winter months can be uncomfortably cold in southern regions, particularly Cape Town. More importantly, our tours feature African safaris where wildlife viewing is significantly better during cooler seasons—summer heat drives animals into shade during the day, reducing sightings. Spring and autumn offer ideal temperatures for both golf and active wildlife encounters, creating the perfect balance for your journey.
Are golf clubs provided or should I bring my own?
Golf clubs are not provided, and we highly recommend bringing your own for the best experience and consistency. If that's not feasible, club rentals are available at each course for an additional fee.
What should I pack for the trip?
Once you've booked your tour, we'll send you a comprehensive packing guide covering everything you'll need. We've thought through every detail so you can pack with confidence and focus on the excitement ahead.
How far in advance should I book?
Our tours fill quickly, and the luxury resorts and safari lodges we partner with often book a year or more in advance. If you're interested in joining a tour, contact us as soon as possible to discuss available dates and secure your spot. Early booking ensures you get your preferred travel dates and accommodations.
